Trinity
Community Lutheran Church congregation was established in 1913
by Icelandic pioneers of Point Roberts. The church
building was finished in 1920. Original services were in
Icelandic, but are now in English. An eight rank pipe organ was
installed in 1985.
In
1995 construction began on fellowship hall attached to north of
sanctuary. The architecture matches the original building;
the new addition includes classrooms, reception room, kitchen,
& pastors study. The fellowship hall was dedicated in
August 1999. The sanctuary is connected to the fellowship
hall reception room with a closed circuit t.v. system.
Point
Roberts is located 30 miles south of Vancouver British Columbia.
It is a unique peninsula on Georgia Straight, just south of the
49th parallel in Washington State. The Point has a
year round mild climate with half the annual rain fall of
Vancouver, British Columbia. It is surrounded on three
sides by ocean which has attracted both Americans and Canadians
to its shores.
